That's right. When you get pre-approved at the Credit Union, the dealer can't sell you his financing, he has to sell you the vehicle. This allows for you to prevent the dealer from pulling the old "bait and switch". This simply means that if the dealer gives you a competitive rate, you are paying too much for the vehicle. The dealer is obviously out to make a profit, how much of a profit they make is up to you.

Once you are pre-approved, the Credit Union can give you Kelley Blue Book values on any new vehicle that you are looking at. We also have the NADA book for prices on any used vehicles that you are interested in.
